The South Korean automaker Ssangyong owned by Mahindra unveiled a new version of the Rexton facelift SUV at the 2012 Busan Motor Show. The car has got a big makeover with much more contemporary looks. The all new fuel efficient turbo diesel engine has been developed by Ssangyong for the SUV with entire focus on low end torque for an improved drivability. 2012 facelifted Ssangyong Rexton W SUV has an e-XDi200 Active Turbo Diesel engine with an inline four cylinder layout the motor displacement of 1.998cc. The peak power of the car is 154 Bhp and the peak torque is 360 Nm.
Even if the engine is idle, it delivers 190 Nm of torque, which is one of its biggest selling points for this car because with this feature the drivability will be terrific. Ssangyong e-XDi200 Active Turbo Diesel Engines are capable to be upgraded to Euro VI norms. A twin turbocharger variant of the same engine is more powerful with 225 Bhp of power and 500 Nm of torque. Though, the auto car maker has a plan of using this engine in a high performance luxury saloon car, which will be launched soon.
