The new Peugeot 301 is a vehicle being built strictly for emerging markets. The car will make its first public appearance at the Paris Motor Show in September, and then by November it will be on sale in Turkey. The 301?s appeal practical appeal comes from offering plenty of space for little money. 14.4-foot length, 8.7-foot wheelbase (for more interior room), and 18 cubic feet of trunk space. Those kind of figures make it about the size of the Nissan Versa sedan, but the Peugeot is a whole lot prettier. Since this will be for rougher countries, Peugeot will be utilizing one of their most reliable/efficient strong points: diesel power. There will be a 1.6-liter 92 hp diesel unit making 92 hp. Diesel is not the only power source for many of these countries, so a 1.2-liter, 71 hp three-cylinder and a 1.6-liter, 115 hp four-cylinder gas engines will be made available.
